"an incredible afternoon of family entertainment."
--Broadway World
"This show is a full-on sensory experience! Such a treat for the eyes and ears, with surprises popping from every direction. I was afraid to blink for fear I'd miss something! Definitely take your kids to pee BEFORE the show."
Mindy Thomas Program Director SiriusXM's Kids Place Live |
"Truly one of the oddest and most compelling afternoons of unbridled silliness I may have ever experienced.
If there's not a 'children's cult classic' genre of family entertainment, there is now." Darren Critz, Director of Performing Arts Symphony Space in NYC |
"Trademark rockabilly sound with a Devo sensibility." —The New York Times |
Surreal comedy in the spirit of children's shows such as Yo Gabba Gabba, inspired by Zappa, Devo, and 1950s beatnik bop.

I have seen the future and it is Lard Dog…Brilliant songs that could hold their own next to Johnny Mercer.

One of the most original shows I have seen in years.Clever, incredibly well-designed, wholly original, and out of this world fun for adults and kids. The humor goes just enough over the heads of kids to hit their parents square in the eyes. It's the best of Woody Woodpecker, the B-52s, Ren & Stimpy meets cool 50's pop music.
- Mark Ruffalo, Actor |
Lard Dog is the pinnacle, the acme of entertainment.
- Tony Millionaire, Cartoonist
Lard Dog’s music is imaginative and fun. It’s different from a lot of the kid's music that’s out there.
- Leslie S. “I like the fact that it's silly but not stupid. It’s silly, it’s funny, it’s even a little juvenile, but it’s not pandering.” - Jason R. It’s like they respect kids enough to expose them to that kind of musical quality. That’s usually reserved for adults. - Jim S. It’s whimsical and it fosters imagination. They sing along with words that they don’t even know, and that’s good brain food. - Lynn R. |
The thing with children’s music is you want something that will entertain, captivate, and possibly educate without driving parents insane. I listen to ‘Colander Sun’ when there aren’t any kids around. There’s no record in our house that comes close to doing that.
- Jason R. My husband doesn't have any kid’s songs on his phone, while I have tons. Then I discovered my husband had Lard Dog’s album in his car. - Jennifer R. "Lard Dog's songs actually teach something because they expose them to such interesting sounds and ideas. I find that educational." - Diane E. |
